May's Birthday - Sunday 18 January 2009
May Gibbs was born on the 17th of January 1877 and every year her birth is celebrated at Nutcote on the Sunday closest to the 17th. The next event is on Sunday the 18th of January, 2009. Friends of Nutcote and members of the public are welcome, as well as Scotty dogs and their owners. May Gibbs bred Scotties and they featured in her books and comic strips. Accordingly we request only Scotties and West Highland terriers in the canine category. Their distinctve shape made them good subjects for May's art, which will be on display.
Come and enjoy the garden which comes to life with the Scotties, tour the house, homemade cakes and sandwiches in the Bib and Bub Tea Room, Birthday cake-cutting ceremony and join in the fun.oin us for our annual event when the pupils of Neutral Bay Public School entertain us in to the evening.

Children's Birthday Parties at May Gibbs’ Nutcote
May Gibbs’ Nutcote is a magical and very special place - an ideal venue for your child's next birthday party.
Situated on the harbour at Neutral Bay, Children are invited to use the costumes provided to become Gumnut children or Bad Banksia men for the day! Story-telling inside May's delightful cottage is an experience the children are unlikely to forget. Games such as Gumnut hunt, musical statues and limbo stick are organised by our birthday co-ordinator.
Each 2-hour Children’s Birthday Party session includes entertainment and party food and there are 2 menus to choose from. Session times are from 10:30am to 12:30pm or from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
All this value from just $21 per child on Saturdays (preferred day for Children's Birthday Parties).
Prices are based on the menu selected, the number of children attending and the weekend day requested. The minimum number of children attending a Party is 10 and the maximum is 20.
Pricing:
Saturday (preferred) is $21 (Party Menu) or $23 (Gourmet Menu) per child
Sunday is $26 (Party Menu) or $28 (Gourmet Menu) per child.
Bookings should be made at least 30 days in advance and we require a $100 deposit to confirm your booking.
